Northern Peru has a lot to offer. Huaraz is the gateway to the spectacular Cordillera Blanca, Huaraz has become northern Peru’s epicentre for adrenaline fuelled activities and outdoor lovers’ dreams. In Trujillo the big draw is Chan Chan, arqueological center of an ancient Chimor mud city. In Chiclayo city we can find the museum of the Lord Sipan, and this collection is considered the “King Tutankamon of the Americas” and lives up to the hype with a vast collection of copper, old and silver in impeccable condition.

DAY 01: LIMA – CITY TOUR – HUARAZ
After breakfast, you will be picked-up for a group visit of colonial and modern Lima, starting in the center of this vibrant, metropolis. The tour will include a visit of the cathedral, dating from 1654 which also has the tomb of the Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro. The Main Square, with the original bronze fountain built in 1650, the Government Palace, where the President has his official residence and the San Francisco Convent, with its famous catacombs. Lima, known as the City of the Kings, was founded in 1535 by Pizarro and after several devastating earthquakes was rebuilt in 1991; the same year that UNESCO declared Lima a world heritage site. In the afternoon, you will enjoy an afternoon sightseeing around Miraflores. Then we will take you to bus station to Huaraz.
DAY 02: HUARAZ – EXPERIMENTAL TOURISM
Pick up by the bus station and transfer to Vicos. Reception and accommodation. We can drink the typical mate de coca and different medicinal herbs. We can walk around of the community to know how they plant for acclimatization. Then we can prepare an indigenous bread. Overnight.
DAY 03: EXPERIMENTAL TOURISM – HUARAZ
This DAY we prepare Pachamanca, we are in all process. We are accompanied all the time by the typical music until you leave. Then we do an earth´s tribute and return to Huaraz. Overnight in Huaraz.
DAY 04: HUARAZ – LLANGANUCO LAGOON O CHAVÍN DE HUANTAR – TRUJILLO
This DAY we can choose wich tour you would like to take, Llanaganuco lagoon or visit the Chavin de Huantar monument.
Visit to the north of the Callejón de Huaylas experiencing part of the white mountain range and the native villages of the Callejón de Huaylas, Carhuaz visit of an ice cream shop made with natural fruit, the Campo Santo (city buries the land of 1970), Yungay, Laguna de Llanganuco (3850 m. turquoise green and varied vegetation, typical lunch, Caraz (tasting of Manjar Blanco), visit of the artisan center of Tarica. Return to Huaraz. Overnight.
Chavín de Huantar arqueological Center:
Departure from Huaraz towards Chavín de Huantar 3,140 m. visiting the towns of Recuay, Ticapampa and Catac on the way. From this city we will turn towards the Cordillera Blanca, by road reaching the banks of the Querococha Lagoon, at an altitude of 3890 meters above sea level, serving as a natural trout farm and fishing is allowed only at certain times, from where it will be possible to Take some views of the snowed and landscape of the area. When continuing with the tour, we will be arriving at the Cawish Tunnel, natural boundary between the Callejón de Huaylas and the Callejón de los Conchucos located at an altitude of 45016 meters above sea level and from where the descent towards the city of Chavín begins, observing the route villages with their typical ways of construction, clothing and customs. The temple of Chavin is located on the outskirts of the town and your visit will last an average of 2 hours. Lunch will be served in a typical restaurant of the town of Chavín. After a short rest we will return to the city of Huaraz. Then transfer to the bus station to Trujillo.
DAY 05: TRUJILLO – TOUR HUACA DEL SOL Y LA LUNA
Pick you up and tranfer to you Hotel in Trujillo city. We can take a short rest. 10:30 approximately we will visit Campiña de Moche, site museum, the visit the Huaca del Sol y la Luna. The Temples of the Sun and the Moon are more than 700 years older than Chan Chan and are attributed to the Moche period. They are on the south bank of the Río Moche, about 10km southeast of Trujillo. Then Transfer to the hotel and Overnight.
DAY 06: TRUJILLO – CHAN CHAN – HUANCHACO – CHACHAPOYAS
In the morning in privet service we will visit Huaca Arcoiris then el Tshudi o Nikan palace, we can walk around the streets. Chan Archeological site is a most famous ruin. It’s here that the largest adobe city in history once thrived. The area of Chan is enormous. In fact, the sand-brick ruins cover such a massive area that people are finding portions of ancient city walls buried in their backyards far from the protected area. It will take archeologists decades to uncover the entirety of the city. And perhaps what’s just as impressive about Chan as the sheer size of it, is that this dry-earth city is built within an ear-shot of the lapping waves of the Pacific Ocean. Then we will go to Huanchaco and we can see Caballito de Totora. After a short rest we go to the bus station to Chachapoyas (10 hours until Chachapoyas)
DAY 07: CHACHAPOYAS – TOUR CATARATAS DE GOCTA Y PETROGLIFOS DE LA PITAYA
We arrived and transfer to the Hotel. 8:30 a.m. approximate departure from the hotel, on a tourist transportation. Guided visit of La Pitaya and Petroglyphs. Arrival at the village of Cocachimba. Visit to the Cataract of Gocta. 4:30 p.m.: Return to Chachapoyas and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 08: CHACHAPOYAS – TOUR KUELAP – CHICLAYO
Early breakfast at your hotel. Pick-up from the hotel at 8:30 a.m. approximately. Transport in van from Chachapoyas to the village of Tingo for 1 hour. After 40 minutes of trip, stop at a viewpoint to observe the Macro Archaeological Complex (Pre-Inca remains of the Chachapoyas Culture). Arrival to the Lift Box Office to buy the tickets. We will continue our tour 10 minutes by car to Tingo, place of departure of the lifts. Transfer from Tingo in lift(s) for 5 minutes to Malca. Purchase of entrance ticket in Malca for admission to archaeological site of Kuelap. We will continue the 1 km walk until you reach the archaeological site of Kuelap. Guided tour to the archaeological site of Kuelap for approximately 2 hours. Which was built high in the mountainous jungle of Chachapoyas and is composed of two huge platforms that at first sight appear to be a giant wall and inside there is more than 500 circular and triangular enclosures. In this important visit, we will know the history of this magnificent place, while we will enjoy surprising landscapes. Before visiting Kuelap we will stop at a lookout point to observe the Macro Archaeological Complex (Pre-Inca remains of the Chachapoyas culture). Return to Malca of 1 kilometer shortly in lifts to Tingo. Return by car from Tingo to the city of Chachapoyas. Then transfer to the bus station to return to Chiclayo.
DAY 09: CHICLAYO TOURS SIPAN FULL DAY – LIMA
Pick up of the bus station at 05:30 am, and transfer to Hotel to short rest. Then we do the tour to Huaca Rajada of the Sipan, we can visit the diggings then lunch. Then we will go to Tucume, we visit the site museum and the we go the tombs Sipan´s museum. Transfer to the airport for your fly to Lima. Pick up in Lima and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight.
DAY 10: LIMA – CUSCO – CITY TOUR
Pick up in Lima and transfer to the Jorge Chavez airport for your flight to Cusco. It is a one-hour flight to Cuzco, the ancient Inca capital of the Incas. In Cuzco, you will be warmly welcomed and assisted with your luggage before your short private drive to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will start the city tour in Cuzco. You can visit to the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking Cuzco city, Qenko, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara. We’ll visit the Inca ruins site of Sacsayhuaman under the view of the last light as it plays on the ancient Inca stones. Then you will return to your hotel.
DAY 11: CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, 2 hours before the departure and take you to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo. We use a friendly backpacker service. We will begin the journey from Ollantaytambo to the town of Aguas Calientes. The views out your train windows will be absolutely spectacular as we travel beside the roaring Urubamba River and the towering mountains surrounding it. In Aguas Calientes, our guide will be waiting for us and will accompany us to the bus station where we will board the bus to take us to the amazing citadel of Machu Picchu. There we will have our 2-hour guided tour, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, cemeteries, the Intihuatana sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Three Windows. Then we will descend to the town of Aguas Calientes by bus, where you can have lunch at one of the various restaurants in Aguas Calientes or at Sanctuary Lodge. At 6:30 PM, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo. This trip takes about two hours. At 8:30 PM, we will board a private bus which will take us back to Cusco. We arrive in Cusco at approximately 10:30 PM. Overnight.
DAY 12: CUSCO – LIMA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight back to Lima.
